How it works
Each index is the daily market cap — the sum of price × listing count across every skin on YouPin898 in the relevant category. We use YouPin because it is the largest CS2 marketplace globally and sets the reference price the rest of the market tracks.
Daily snapshots are stored in price_daily_youpin; the chart bodies show day-over-day movement (synthesized OHLC where open = previous close). Green = market up, red = market down.
FAQ
It is the total daily market cap of every CS2 skin on YouPin898 — the sum of every listed item's price multiplied by its listing count. We split it on three axes: by weapon category (Knives, Rifles, Pistols, SMGs, Heavy, Gloves), by rarity tier (Gold ★ knives & gloves, Covert, Classified, Restricted, Mil-Spec, Industrial, Consumer) and by collection (Anubis, Snakebite, Recoil, Kilowatt, Gallery, Genesis, etc.) so you can see exactly which segment of the market is pumping or correcting.
The Covert index aggregates every red-tier weapon skin — the highest non-knife rarity in CS2 (think AWP Dragon Lore, AK-47 Wild Lotus, AWP Gungnir). It is the most-watched index because it captures the high-value, slow-moving "blue chip" segment of the market. Knives and gloves sit in their own Gold ★ index because they trade differently.
Category = what kind of weapon a skin is (rifle, pistol, knife…). Rarity = the in-game drop tier (the colored bar — red, pink, purple, blue…). Every skin has both. The rarity index is useful because cheap-rarity skins (Mil-Spec, Industrial) often move very differently from Covert and Knife tiers — even when overall market cap is flat.
YouPin898 is the largest CS2 marketplace globally by sale volume, with a much fairer fee structure than Steam (which has a 15% fee and a locked wallet). YouPin prices are the reference the rest of the market tracks. Steam Community Market data is also available via the API but is a less honest reflection of true skin value.
We snapshot YouPin once per day, so each candle is synthesized from daily aggregates — open = previous day's close. This shows daily direction (green = up, red = down) and percentage moves accurately, without intraday wicks. True intraday OHLC requires the live API.
Daily snapshots typically run during low-activity hours and are reflected here within minutes of the snapshot completing.
Yes — all the underlying daily and live data is exposed through the CSPriceAPI REST endpoints. See /cs2-api for the full schema and authentication.
